Smith Learner Driver School of Motoring.
You must be of legal age to drive (17) and be able to produce a valid UK provisional Category B photo card driving licence. You may be asked for consent to access the driver information on the DVLA to check driver details.
For Motorway driving, a full licence must be held, therefore pass plus or refresher lessons a valid Photo card licence must be produced to validate driver entitlement for this purpose.
You must meet the minimum eye test required by law, which means you must be able to read a standard UK number plate at a minimum distance of 20.5 meters (67 feet). If you need to wear glasses or contact lenses in order to meet this requirement then you must wear them whenever you drive.
Block booking must be taken within 6 months of date of full payment, after this period no refund will be given.
YOU must notify your instructor of any change of your ability or entitlement to drive. Example if your provisional licence has been revoked or for medical reason such as epilepsy.
If you wish to CANCEL a lesson –A MINIMUM OF 24 HOURS MUST BE GIVEN. Failure to do so will result in FULL payment of that lesson. If texting or phoning the lesson cancellation you must get confirmation acknowledgement back from your instructor.
Your instructor will endeavour to be on time, but in the event of delay of more than 10 minutes he/she will phone you as soon as possible to advise of their delay, the lesson will then begin as of the time he/she arrives.
Payment for driving lessons will be paid on the day in cash or via setting up a bank transfer, or by pre-paid arrangements.
Intensive courses, once an assessment has been done and the amount of hours agreed, you will need to pay a deposit of £150.00 via bank transfer, this will secure the course, it will then be undertaken to arrange your test date booking with the DVSA. This is NON REFUNDABLE.
Should you fail to reach a satisfactory standard of driving and or likely to be a danger to other road users, unfit due to substances (drugs/alcohol) (any prescribed medication which may affect your driving) you’re driving instructor has a responsibility to DVSA and other road users not to allow you to drive the training vehicle. Therefore it is your responsibility to prevent this or a full payment will be incurred by YOU the pupil.
No responsibility can be taken for the test being cancelled by the DVSA for whatever reason. Lessons will have to be paid for in full and you may be able to claim back from the DVAS. Your instructor cannot be responsible if you fail because of the eyesight test. Your instructor will be responsible if your test is cancelled due to reasons of in proper vehicle for test purpose.
